This book is actually the first in the Beezus and Ramona series by Beverly Cleary. We haven't been reading them in order, basically because we get them from the library and they don't always have the one that you want on the shelf the day you want it. We haven't minded reading them out of order, they do stand on their own, both our 5 year old and 10 year old daughters have been enjoying these books. This book finds Beezus at age 9 and Ramona at age 4. Ramona is a very busy little girl, she's always getting into things or ruining them. She ate 1 bite out of nearly a whole box of apples and ruined Beezus' birthday cake twice in the same day in this book. We love reading these wonderful adventures together!
