Halloween at Disney and Getaway Today Sale

I know I already posted once today, but check out this great deal that Get Away Today is doing right now!

Disneyland really is the Happiest Place on Earth, but what about during the fall? In mid-September, Disneyland turns into the most Spook-tacular Place on Earth during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort! There is so much to do while at Disneyland during Halloween so I’ve gathered the top 5 things you have to do.

Before you get to the park, you have to book your trip. Let my friends at Get Away Today help you get there. They have discount Disneyland tickets and if you book before August 21st, you can save $13 off your 3-Day Park Hopper tickets with their Lucky 13 ticket sale! Tickets are only valid for travel from September 15 through October 31, 2017.

Now that you know who to book your trip with, let’s talk about all there is to do in Disneyland during Halloween Time.

#1: Take pictures with the fun décor

Disneyland really goes all out with their décor, no matter the season. Halloween Time is

no different. If anything, the festive touches add extra magic to your trip! Keep your camera ready on Main Street, U.S.A. where the streets are lined with hand carved Jack-O-Lanterns and a giant Mickey pumpkin during the annual Pumpkin Festival. Head on over to Frontierland to capture each moment with the Dia de los Muertos celebration. Then, hop on over to California Adventure to snap a pic with Oogie Boogie as he greets you at the gates. Capture the bats circling over the Carthay Circle Theatre and the Headless Horseman statue on Buena Vista Street. Cruise on over to Cars Land where Radiator Springs transforms into Radiator Screams! New Halloween décor will be added to everyone’s favorite land, giving the perfect photo op for your family.

#2: Visit your favorite characters in their Halloween gear

Speaking of perfect photo ops, some of your favorite characters will be dressed in their Halloween best, making for even more picture perfect moments. What better way to remember the holiday than with a picture of you and Mickey Mouse in his “ear”ie attire? And for the first time ever, Mater and Lightning McQueen will be in “car”stumes! Don’t forget your autograph book and pen for a souvenir that will last forever.

#3: Check out the festive ride overlays

The parks aren’t the only thing getting decked out in Halloween flair! Some of your favorite rides get a make-over for the fall season. Take a spin on Haunted Mansion Holiday where you can see some of your favorite characters from Nightmare Before Christmas come to life. Or, if you want a little more thrill, take a ride on Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy where you will be chased in the dark by spooky ghouls. If something a little less spooky and a little more silly is preferred, head on over to Cars Land in California Adventure. You can take a whirl on Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween to experience ALL the Halloween fun.

#4: Treat yourself to a spooky snack

The already magical food at Disneyland gets a seasonal makeover during Halloween Time. Options like pumpkin churros, butterscotch beignets, candied apples and bat Mickey cookies will surely grab your attention. Each with their own festive flair, you won’t want to miss out on all of this ghoulish grub!

#5: Party hard- Disney style

We all know that Disney goes all out in whatever they do, so why would their parties be any different? If you want a little extra fun, take a night and go to Mickey’s Halloween Party. This is a separate ticketed event that is loads of fun. When you attend the party, you get the chance to dress up in your Halloween best. This is the only time the whole family can wear costumes into the park. You can also take pictures with your favorite villains and go trick-or-treating. With a plethora of delightful candy and healthy snacks, the trick-or-treating is fun for everyone. Party-goers are the only people that get to see the “Halloween Screams” fireworks and the Headless Horseman ride through Main Street, U.S.A., leading all your favorite Disney pals in the Frightfully Fun Parade.

If you choose not to go to Mickey’s Halloween Party, don’t worry! Hop over to Disney California Adventure and enjoy Radiator Screams. Or, scream yourself silly on the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! For those who choose 1-Park per Day tickets, make sure to plan your days accordingly since Disneyland Park will close early for the Halloween Party.  Whether you party with Mickey in Disneyland or party with your family in Disney California Adventure, you’ll have a blast!
