First and foremost, Disneyland’s Digital Fastpass System is now out! This brand new system is done electronically and is super convenient. You receive your Fastpass the same way as before- putting your park ticket into the machine and the ticket pops out. But the new thing now is that the ticket that you get is just a reminder- the real Fastpass is in your park ticket! It’s very likely the paper reminder is temporary, but no details have been given on when the switch will be made. When your time comes, go to the Fastpass line and scan your park ticket (not your reminder) and then head to the front of the line.
Summer of Heroes is going strong in Disney California Adventure, now until September 10th. This party was the perfect kick off for the new ride, Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT! Not only can you experience the new ride, but you can meet your favorite heroes, attend the Avengers Training Initiative and eat limited time food- super hero style.
Fantasmic! is back on July 17th from its hiatus and will be better than ever before. It will feature new technology and will continue to be a favorite of anyone that steps into the park. Not only will this spectacular show come back, but it was preceded by Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer’s Island on June 16th and will be joined by Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia and Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes on July 29th. That date marks the reopening of the Rivers of America AND the Disneyland Railroad (which is a perfect activity for when your tired feet need a break). These iconic reappearances are definitely a must see this year!
Frozen Live at the Hyperion Theater opened in April of 2016 but is still as good as ever! The Broadway style show will wow anyone and everyone. Not only will you get to see an amazing production, but it’s a great option when you need to cool down or rest your feet. No Fastpass is currently needed for this attraction, but you’ll want to get in line 30-60 minutes before one of the three showings a day.
Soarin’ Around the World made its debut in June of 2016 but it still feels new every time we ride. Instead of only seeing the beautiful sights of California, you can see some of the world’s most iconic landmarks like the Taj Majal, Sydney Harbor and the Fiji Islands. The sights and smells of destinations all around the world will make you feel like you’ve had the adventure of a lifetime, all within Disney California Adventure.
