About the book: Branwell D'Angelo . . .
Six years ago, I fell in love with Lucy--my brother's girlfriend. Stupid of me, I know, but sometimes the heart doesn't listen to reason.
Six years, I've lived on the sidelines. Seeing him love her, be with her, bask in her sunshine . . .
I watched her break his heart and then cleaned up the shattered pieces of him she left behind.
She's the one woman I can't have but still the only one my soul wants.
Now she's back in our lives and needs the unique help only us D'Angelos can give.
He's not emotionally strong enough to face her. So he's sending me instead . . .
For her part, when tragedy strikes Lucy Snow on a visit to Italy, she can't bring herself to call any of the D'Angelo brothers for help. There are consequences for falling in love with your ex-boyfriend's brother. But Lucy desperately needs Branwell's paranormal skills and his gift of Sight. And if seeing him will negate at least three years of therapy? Well, it's a price she is willing to pay.
Thrown together in a desperate bid to save an innocent life, Branwell and Lucy struggle against their shared past, only to realize that something even more dangerous is reaching through the weight of time to stalk their every move . . .
My review: Wow, this is the first book I've read by Nichole Van. I have no idea why I've never read her books before, but I can guarantee that it won't be the last. I loved this book, it was amazing!
I loved the way it has both flashbacks and current day parts. It was helpful to be able to know the background story between Lucy and Branwell and Tennyson.
When Branwell first met Lucy, six years before, it was love at first sight...and then he realized that she was his triplet brother Tennyson's new girlfriend. Bubble burst. Flash forward six years and Lucy needs Branwell's supernatural abilities to help her find out just what happened to her niece. She's in Italy, staying in her brother and his wife's apartment and her young niece, Grace, simply disappears. There are no leads and no way to find out what had happened to her.
Luckily Branwell has a special ability. He's able to touch objects and "see" what has happened around that object. But it's not as easy as it sounds for him to figure out what has happened to her either. It takes work, patience and the abilities of all three of the brothers to figure out what's happened and find Grace.
This is such a great book! It's the second book in a series, I'm going to have to find the first book and read that one next, but you can read it in any order. It stands alone really well. I liked that it's clean, there were a few mild swear words in it, but that's all.
