Blog Tour - Deadly Inheritance

About the book: Andi Buckner and her twin brother, Bolden, have had enough of the rough streets of Detroit. When they can no longer bear the drugs and abuse within their home, the twins make their escape: Bolden to the military, and Andi to wherever the wind takes her. With few belongings and no specific destination, Andi eventually finds herself across the table from a kind old man in a quaint cafe in Spring Hollow, Montana. Louis "Gramps" Granger, a retired cop, takes Andi under his wing. Andi soon finds a peace she's never known as she roots herself in the small town, working at the cafe and living in a cabin on Gramps's property. But her peace is short-lived...

When an enemy from Gramps's past murders the old man, Andi's need to see justice served draws her into an investigation far beyond her own abilities. But hundreds of miles away, her twin brother senses her despair and heeds her silent plea for help. Andi is soon reunited with her brother as well as with Bolden's friend, private investigator Mason Crowther. Together, the trio delves into a mystery and soon discovers that the murderer's motive goes far deeper than any of them imagined. With the truth almost within reach, they find themselves directly in the path of a killer who will stop at nothing to finish what they've started...

My review: Wow, I loved this book so much! I didn't want to put it down until I'd finished.

I loved Andi in this book. I loved that she is such a strong young woman character. Andi's been on her own since she was 16, because she couldn't trust her mother to pick a man who wouldn't beat either of them. So she moved out. The start of this book finds her moving on, across the country on her own, with no idea of where she's headed.

I loved the way she met Gramps. She had stopped in a small town at a diner, sick and tired of food from convenience stores. But the diner was swamped and the one waitress didn't notice Andi. Gramps realized this and went out of his way to invite Andi to sit with him and make sure she got something to eat. I LOVED Gramps, I loved the kindness he had and the bond he developed with Andi. I loved how he was looking out for her, before he was dead, but even after he was dead. Such an amazing character.

And then there's the plot and that's also great! It's so suspenseful and you won't believe how it ends. I was really sad when Andi found Gramps dead. But so glad when his dog was still around to protect Andi and be her friend.

This is such a great book! I can't wait for more from this author, he's one of my favorites!

I was sent a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
