King of the Friend Zone

About the book: From the Power of the Matchmaker series:

Esme Taylor has an amazing fiancé, a lifelong best friend, and a problem.

The problem stems from the fact that her best friend is named Hunter and, well. . .he’s kind of (totally) hot. It’s hate at first sight when her fiancé, Jon, and Hunter meet. Jon’s convinced that Hunter is in love with Esme, and that Hunter must be out of the picture if their upcoming marriage is to succeed.

Esme thinks Jon is paranoid.

The truth is, Jon’s not that far off. Hunter is in love with his best friend and always has been. What Jon has wrong, however, is that Hunter never had any plans of ruining Esme’s happily ever after. Hunter wants what’s best for Esme, even if that’s not him.

When Jon pushes hard to end Esme and Hunter’s friendship, opposition comes from the most unlikely of places. It’s an eccentric lady with a cookie cart who suggests a different solution to Esme’s problem: Hunter and Esme should give each other a chance.

They’ve both thought of the possibility over the years—of course they have. But with a ring already on Esme’s finger and a heap of hurt feelings and broken trust in the mix, there hasn’t been a worse time to explore the depths of their feelings for each other.

Both Esme and Hunter think it’s time to move on and leave childhood crushes in the past. The question is: Can one woman and the taste of one cookie change their minds?

My review: I have had the most fun reading these Power of the Matchmaker books this year. I'm sure that it was a huge job to put it all together, but it's been so amazing and fun. I was way excited to see that Sheralyn Pratt was going to be one of the authors and I've been eagerly anticipating her book in this series. And the wait is over!

This book was so fun! I loved Esme. She's an amazing young woman who I was able to learn about a little at a time. Kind of like Shrek, she has layers and you really don't get to see them all peeled away until almost the very end of the book. I liked how loyal she was to Jon, but I can't say that I really like his character or really even the way he treats her in the book. He's not outright abusive, but he's definitely not going out of his way to let her make her own choices or do her own thing either.

Hunter was a really fun character! He has a kind of sense of humor that you don't see a lot in books, and I thought that it was funny how he described himself as a bit of a jerk in the book. He was kind of like Esme, he had layers as well, and when his were all peeled back, he didn't seem like the jerk in the story at all.

I think that Miss Pearl was my favorite so far in this story. She and her cookie cart were one of my very favorite parts. How imaginative to have the cookie be the indicator of just whose kisses you should be partaking of. I loved how she sat down with both of the characters and gave them the talking to they needed to hear.

I loved that Ashton and Grace are back from The Kiss that Launched a 1000 Gifs. They play a big part in the romance of this one as well and this book wouldn't have been the same without them.

This book is amazing, make sure to get your own copy! Amazon

I was sent an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Kayaks and Kisses

About the book: Brynn Caley is about to start her dream career running an outdoor sporting goods store when an out-of-town business guru makes his own offer on the property. Coerced into forming a temporary partnership, Brynn, with her ski experience, finds she has to work with fishing expert Gage to run the year-round shop.

Through a series of innocent misconceptions and a few blatant lies, Brynn doesn’t realize that the handsome single guy on the construction crew is her new partner, and he doesn’t want to set her straight until he can gain her favor. She, on the other hand, would do anything not to work with the stuffy businessman she’s only met through email.

Inspired by the movies You’ve Got Mail and The Shop around the Corner, Kayaks & Kisses is a heart-warming tale of finding love in autumn leaves, outdoor activities, and new friendships.

My review: This book was so fun! I loved that it's loosely based on one of my very favorite movies, You've Got Mail. There was at …

Blog Tour - Love and Fat Free Cheese

About the book: Fat-free cheese is okay—unless you’ve tasted real cheese. Juliet Easton learns this about love too as she uncovers who truly loves her, and who is using her to get to the secret she knows about the disappearance of her sister’s fiance and the pharmaceutical conspiracy he plans to reveal. Can she protect her loved ones’ lives and her heart? You’ll be hooked from Asiago to Zamorano cheese in this suspenseful and hilarious romantic thriller.

My review: I was amazed at just how much I loved this whole book. I picked it up and read it in one day because I wanted to know just what happened so badly. Such a great book, and I had to laugh at the author's name, Sharp is a kind of cheddar cheese so it totally goes with the title.

I loved the way that Juliet is the main character in this book, because it easily could have been her sister Eva, I think having Juliet the main character brings a ton of extra plot greatness. I also liked the way there were tons of flashbacks to Eva&…
