Book Blast - The Fall of Lord Drayson

The Fall of Lord Drayson by Rachael Anderson

Who is he really? A high and mighty lord or a lowly servant? When Colin Cavendish, the new earl of Drayson, informs Lucy Beresford that she and her mother need to vacate the house they've called home for the past two years, Lucy is fit to be tied. They have no money, no relations they can turn to for help, and nowhere to go. How dare the earl break the promise his father had made to the Beresfords without so much as a twinge of conscience? Fate plays her hand when Lucy discovers the earl unconscious and injured in the middle of the road. When he awakens with no recollection of who he is, Lucy seizes the opportunity to teach the earl a much-needed lesson in humility and tells him that he is nothing more than a mere servant. Her servant, in fact. And thus begins the charming tale of a pompous lord and an impetuous young woman, caught together in a web so tangled that it begs the question: Will they ever get out?

Resist

About the book: Having been rescued, Remade, and returned to Freedom, Theron faces a life without None. Though he's chosen to be a healer, he can't seem to heal himself of his heartbreak. Not even the endless pleasures and vices Freedom offers can dull the pain of losing the only girl he's ever loved. The peace he so desperately needs seems impossible to find.

Then he meets Catcher, who becomes a friend and a mentor and who teaches Theron about the dark truths behind Freedom's Batcher program—and about a growing rebellion known as "the Rise."

Theron's quest for peace and healing is further complicated when he falls in love with a captured rebel named Pua. He must choose: Freedom and its easy pleasures, or a life that is truly free but full of hardships and sacrifice.

My review: I was excited to get to read this new book by Ilima Todd, I really enjoyed Remake. I loved the way that this book is from the point of view of Theron. It's fun to read what happen…

About the book: Whether in your family, your ward, or your community, you've observed them: those noble individuals who are strong, patient, and stalwart in the face of adversity. When times are tough, how do they manage the challenging shift from victim to victor? Chances are they have figured out the balance of control—what they have charge of and what is in the Lord's hands.

Trying to manage the ups and downs of life can feel overwhelming, but fortunately we're not alone on this journey. With inspiring doctrinal insights and a healthy dose of humor, author Michelle Wilson inspires readers to let go of fear and find peace, even in the midst of lost jobs, health challenges, or everyday chaos at home. In a world that seems so tempestuous, The Beautiful Balance is a sweet reminder of exactly what we can control—ourselves—and what God controls—all the rest.

My review: Reading this book was a really good reminder for me that I can't control really anything but myself. I hav…

Blog Tour - Dear Jane

About the book: The plan was to serve a mission, marry her boyfriend, and live happily ever after. But all of that changed when Quinn got a Dear Jane email. Now she’s stuck at home with no boyfriend, no job, no major, and absolutely no social life. Will Quinn ever find the path that leads to her eternal happiness?

My review: I loved this book from the very beginning! It isn't very often you see a book about a sister missionary who gets dumped by her boyfriend. I loved that the plot line of this one was just a bit different than you normally see.

I felt sad for Quinn when she got her Dear Jane email. You could just tell that Quinn was trying her hardest to be a good missionary and that she really wanted to work hard and do what was right. I also felt bad for her when she came home to real life and realized just how many trials real life contains for most people.

I loved the way things got a little bit better for her when she finally found a job, until the Elder who seemed to not like…

The Lucky Billionaire

About the book: When Ty Epperson wins a fortune in the Idaho State Lottery, he’s determined to put his sudden wealth to good use, even if it means putting up with Holland Morrissey, a Los Angeles image consultant who has never met a credit card she doesn’t like and thinks spending $1000 on a pair of pants is normal behavior. Ty has never considered himself lucky in life or in love, until now. But not all of Ty’s plans are popular and someone is determined to stop him, putting everyone and everything he loves at risk.

My review: This is the newest Destination Billionaire Romance by Gelato Publishing. I love this series because each includes a cute, clean romance that you don't want to put down. This one was really fun for me because Ty and his family live in a cute little town that I enjoyed visiting during my high school years.

I liked Ty. He's the billionaire, he recently won the lottery and decided to start his own foundation to remove tons of land from government control and …

Blog Tour - Accidentally Me

About the book: WANTED: Pretend stalker. No experience required. Tall, dark, and quirky preferred. Sabrina is desperate to go to her dream college, but her parents want her to stay close to home. If she wants to maintain her perfect child image, Sabrina must break rules that even her rebel sister keeps.

My review: Sabrina...Sabrina...I loved Sabrina in this book. She's just graduated from high school and she's ready to go to college. Only her parents have decided that she needs to go to Boise State because it's close to their home and cheaper. The problem being Sabrina wants to go to Caltech. She knows it's perfect for her intended major. Since she knows there is no way her parents will agree to let her go where she wants, she decides to get a stalker so that they will see she's not safe at home and let her go...I know, flawed thinking!

That's where things get a bit crazy for Sabrina. Because she really doesn't have a stalker and she doesn't really know a…

About the book: Taylin Nichols has the perfect job as a nurse in the newborn unit in her hometown of Mitchel Creek, Georgia, but as for the perfect boyfriend—not so much. She knows she needs to dump the guy, but figures it will happen naturally if she’s accepted for the work abroad program. On a day when she should’ve stayed home, she runs into Luke McKay—literally. He’s new at the hospital and already has a reputation as an unfriendly, brooding male. Even though he’s hotter than a Georgia summer, he’s not Taylin’s type—at least that’s what she tells herself, but after spending time together, she can’t deny her feelings anymore. The only problem is Luke has baggage from a lousy marriage and isn’t ready for a relationship. He desperately tries to keep Taylin in the “friend zone”, but it doesn’t take long to realize that will never work. He has one final wish before he dies; he wants to be married. With time running short, he hires Pamela Jones to find him a bride.

Kiera Martin has done the Billionaire Marriage Brokers arrangement once before and it didn’t turn out well. What she thinks will be the fast road to debt reduction turns out to be the hardest path she’s ever trod as Liam’s diagnosis looms over their every minute together. He showers her with enough love to last eternity, which is good because eternity may be all they have to look forward to. In order to find…

Sweet Confections

About the book: According to Rachel Marconi chocolate heals all wounds. That and throwing darts at pictures of her ex-boyfriend. Burned by yet another bad relationship, Rachel decides to reprioritize her life, putting her dream to compete on a Food Network Challenge on the top of her list and dating at the bottom crossed out in red sharpie.

But what's a girl to do when a certain sexy guy keeps asking her out?

Cue in Graydon Green, a former pro hockey player turned restaurant owner. After a lot of persistent and humorous teasing, he finally convinces Rachel to commit to a date. Just when things begin to warm up, threatening notes directed at Rachel arrive. When her bakery is vandalized, Graydon's protective streak goes on red alert. Is it her obsessive ex-boyfriend stalking her? Or maybe a challenger trying to sabotage the competition?

Either way, Rachel is definitely going to need more chocolate - perhaps drizzled over ice cream and devil's food cake.

My review: I love this k…
