Blog Tour - Caribbean Crossroads Review and Giveaway

About the book: New college grad Megan McCormick just got dumped. Hard. Swearing off men and relationships, Megan is coaxed into performing on a cruise ship where she meets the star performer, Bryant Johnson. Handsome and charismatic, he looks like trouble, but she can't deny the intense attraction between them. Urged to find a wife and run the family lumber business, Bryant is torn between his family's expectations for his life and his own. However, when he meets spunky, but love-skittish Megan McCormick, settling down doesn't look so bad. Just when Megan begins to trust again, and Bryant makes some big decisions regarding his future, her former fiance returns with a malicious surprise, taking Megan and Bryant to their own CARIBBEAN CROSSROADS.

My review: Megan is a college graduate, but unlike most girls her age, she's not really looking for a man right now. She was dumped by a real jerk before this story starts, and you can feel her lack of trust toward the opposite sex as she interacts with the males around her. Her roommate, Jillian, keeps trying to get her to go out with new guys, and when things don't seem to be working that way, she decides to basically trick Megan into signing on as a performer on a cruise ship. It's the same cruise line that Jillian met her own boyfriend on, and Jillian will be there too. Megan is quite nervous about going, it really doesn't help that there is a guy there that keeps staring at her, and it really doesn't help that everywhere she goes on the ship that same guy, Bryant, appears to be there too. Megan can't figure out why he's always there, why her heart beats faster when he is there, or why she's always looking for him too. Is it possible that Bryant could be a good guy, and someday love Megan even though she's never really nice to him at all?

This book was fun. I enjoyed seeing a cruise through the eyes of Megan. I've never been on a cruise, or to any of the exotic places they went on their cruise, but I feel as if I have a little bit. I enjoyed Megan's character, although by the end, I was kind of frustrated with her lack of trust. I cheered as loud as anyone when she finally let go of her bad experience and was able to move on and go get her happily ever after! Read this one on your chair by the beach or the pool, it's a great story.

About the bookCompassionate Soldier illuminates fascinating yet largely unknown stories of men and women whose humanity led them to perform courageous acts of mercy and compassion amid the chaos and carnage of war. Arranged by war from the American Revolution to the Iraq War and global in perspective, it features extraordinary stories of grace under fire from valiant soldiers and noncombatants who rose above the inhumanity of lethal conflict and chose compassion, even knowing their actions could put their lives and liberty at risk.

Included are the stories of Patrick Ferguson, a British officer during the American Revolution who had the chance to kill George Washington but refused to shoot a man in the back; Richard Kirkland, a Confederate soldier during the Civil War who took water to wounded Union soldiers during the battle of Fredericksburg; and Oswald Boelcke, a German WWI flying ace who was one of the most influential tacticians of early air combat and was known for making sure …
