Blog Tour - Lost King

About the book: Undercover agent Omar Zagouri has been ordered to Giza. A prominent Egyptologist was murdered, and a priceless artifact—the only complete version of the Book of the Dead—is missing. Omar is still reeling from the recent disappearance of his girlfriend, Mia Golding, but he puts his quest to find her on hold to track down the lost piece of history.

Omar’s mission is not just to locate the sacred book; he must also rescue the two archaeologists kidnapped and forced to translate its hieroglyphics under threat of death. Their kidnapper is determined to discover the text’s rumored explosive revelation: that Moses did not receive the Ten Commandments from God but instead copied them from the Egyptians. Though Omar’s need to find Mia grows more urgent, he must focus on finding the enemy who will stop at nothing to ignite a controversy that will change history, and the world, forever.

My review: I loved H. B. Moore's first Omar Zagouri book, Finding Sheba, so I was way excited to get to read this one as well. I really like the way she's written these. Omar and Mia's story is in our time period, but there are snippets from ancient Egypt's, Queen Hatsheput's time. And I really enjoyed the way that it's all tied together in the end.

Omar Zagouri is a great character. He and his girlfriend, Mia, are always busy trying to make sure they find which artifacts are real and which are fake. This time there has been a murder of a famous archaeologist. And it looks like there is a priceless book that has been stolen by his murderer. It's up to Omar to find it, but there's a small problem for him. Mia is also missing. He must also take time to figure out just what's happened to her as well.

This book also has a few additional characters that we haven't seen before. There's Kale, a former agent turned professor and Farrah, an expert in all things Egyptian. It was fun that you got to see what happened to those two through Farrah's perspective, as well as Omar's.

This book is well-written with tons of action and adventure that made me not want to put it down. Omar doesn't always use the best language, but there was only mild swearing.
