The Mariposa Hotel

About the book: Welcome to Tangerine Street

Tangerine Street is a must-see tourist stop with a colorful mix of one-of-a-kind boutiques, unique restaurants, eclectic museums, quaint bookstores, and exclusive bed-and-breakfasts. The Mariposa Hotel, a new resort, has revitalized Seashell Beach, bringing new life to the sleepy beach town. In the charming gardens of the hotel sits a three-hundred-year-old wishing well transported from Mexico. One toss of the coin, a sincere wish, and lives are changed forever…

My review: I really enjoy reading these Tangerine Street romances. The books are written by some amazing authors. They are filled with three different contemporary romances written by some of my very favorite authors. I love the way that Julie Wright, Melanie Jacobson and Heather B Moore write. I love that these books all have a commonality, this one is the Mariposa Hotel and it's famous fountain. It's kind of fun when the characters from each of the stories show up in the oth…

Blog Tour - Asleep on the Hay: A Dustbowl Christmas

Blog Tour Schedule

Asleep on the Hay: A Dust Bowl Christmas by Ben Sowards It’s Christmas Eve when a knock comes at the door of Paul’s family farmhouse. A small family is stranded due to a broken-down truck and seeks shelter for the evening. Paul’s grandfather not only welcomes them in, but offers them dinner and a bed for the night. Even though it is a season of giving, Paul’s heart is not filled with charity. It’s the height of the Dust Bowl and food is scarce. Why should he share what little he has with strangers? Worse, in order to help the sick baby, Paul will have to sell his beloved calf to buy a part to fix the truck. Angry, he retreats to the barn, where he sleeps and dreams of faraway Bethlehem. In his dream, he visits Mary and Joseph, and their newborn son, Jesus. The family offers Paul food and shelter and warmth—extending to him the love and charity he lacks and teaching him of the true meaning of Christmas.

My review: I love Christmas books! I love the feeling you have …

Nearly three years after leaving her old life behind, Lottie Beale is feeding people and baking pies, managing the Kachina Café and tending secrets of her own. He considered that. …

My review: The first thing I noticed about this book was the old time feel that the whole thing has. The pictures, the type, the way it's set up all feels as though it's an old book even though it's brand new.

I had a great time looking through thi…

Pandora

About the book: Blake Wells seems to have it made: the wealthy bachelor life, Kennedy-esque good looks, rising political star. The tabloids love him. But one barracuda date after another drains his hopes for finding a girl who’s sincere.

So when his Chief of Staff insists he take a beach vacation, Blake doesn’t go expecting to meet Cressida, the perfect girl. Shazam! She’s seriously a goddess. And even though she protests that she’s bad luck, he’s a goner.

But when a string of crazy (albeit hilarious) coincidences threatens to sink his career, Blake must choose whether to save his campaign or save the love of his life.

If he wants to get this goddess, he’ll have to break her curse.

PANDORA is the first installment in the Goddesses & Geeks series by best-selling contemporary romantic comedy author Jennifer Griffith.

My review: This book was interesting for me. I didn't not like it, but it seemed just a bit cheesy. I think it was probably supposed to seem that way, because the he…

The Organized Bride

About the book: Early on, Pamela Jones realized she had an unusual talent for putting two people together. Over the years, she's turned it into a successful matchmaking service for the ultra-wealthy: Billionaire Marriage Brokers. While she specializes in "business" marriages--paring people off because of their skills, education, or training--she can spot a potential love match a mile away. MaKayla thought taking a job as an event planner for a high-end hotel would be a wonderful lead into opening her own events business. However, a one year no-contact clause leaves her clientless if she quits. With nowhere to go, she is intrigued with Pamela's offer for a one-year contract running charities and overseeing contributions--until she finds out that to take her dream job, she also has to take Gabe...for better or worse.
My review: I'm loving everything about…

Blog Tour - More Than the Tattooed Mormon

About the book: Al Fox Carraway has spent the last four years inspiring the world with her story of conversion, redemption, and finding faith. As a blogger and award-winning public speaker, her message has reached millions. This up-close look at her life will show you what it means to truly trust in the Lord.

My review: I don't know how many blogs most of you follow, but one of my favorites is written by this amazing woman. (Check it out!) I've been excited to read this book ever since I found out that Al Carraway was writing it. She has one of the best styles of writing that I have read. Her style is honest, funny and just plain fun to read. A lot of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints know at least a little bit about how she was converted, just like I did, but I wanted to really know her whole story and that is what she's written about in this book. I love the way that she wrote about her conversion and moving to Utah, meeting her husband. I also lo…

Blog Tour - Soda Springs

About the book: When Tessa Darrow discovers her father burning his Civil War uniform, she has no idea how his secret will devastate their family and drive them from their home in North Carolina. The family journeys along the Oregon Trail until tragedy strikes, leaving Tessa and her father to build a new life in Soda Springs, Idaho. This sweeping story illuminates an oft-forgotten era in LDS Church history. Filled with life and passion, it’s a thrilling read for history buffs and romantics alike.

My review: This is exactly the kind of book that I like to read! It's historical fiction with a touch of romance. I read Carolyn Steele's first book, Willow Springs, and knew that I would enjoy this one, and it was kind of fun that I grew up not that far from Soda Springs and have been there many times. It was fun to learn more about the history of the area.

I was sucked into this story rather quickly. I loved the character of Tessa, and the way that her childhood was abruptly taken away…

Over the years, she's turned it into a successful matchmaking service for the ultra wealthy: Billionaire Marriage Brokers. Janel Fendrick is a go-getter. Her dream of excavating a Mayan temple is within reach -- until the funding is pulled and she's left scrambling for an alternative. Pamela Jones comes along with a proposal...and a groom! Janel hesitates, until she realizes that one year of marriage is a small price to pay to have all her dreams come true. What she doesn't realize, is that she's about to get more than she ever dreamed of.

Blog Tour - He Delivered Even Me, He Will Deliver Even You

About the book: Growing up, Misti thought she had a pretty normal childhood. Right up until the sixth grade. That's when she began to notice things. Like how she was constantly aware of every blink of her eyes. How any normal physical thing could become an enemy that her brain would replay over and over again. She tried talking to her parents about it, but family dysfunction and parental control issues wouldn't let them see her problem for what it was. So she did everything she could to hide it. It would take her many more years to attach a name to her tortuous condition — Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

But after many more years of struggling, praying, and counseling, Misti experienced the miracle she had been seeking — she was healed.

So she's done hiding. This is her story of suffering through — and eventually being healed of — OCD, anxiety, and depression through the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. This is her story of how the Lord turned her deepest struggles int…

Heir to Edenbrooke: A Prequel Novelette

About the book: Philip Wyndham has never envied his older brother for being the heir to Edenbrooke. He would much rather carve out his own destiny than live under the constraints of that position. But when his older brother dies unexpectedly, Philip's life is turned upside down as duty requires him to give up the life he planned. Philip takes on his new role as the most sought-after bachelor in London with alternating reluctance, boredom, and resentment. But all that changes the night fate leads him to an inn, where he meets the incomparable Marianne Daventry.

My review: Oh my goodness! I loved the way that Julianne Donaldson wrote this novelette! I love that the whole thing is from Philip's perspective. You see just how he becomes the Heir to Edenbrooke, but I love that you also see the scene from Edenbrooke in the inn. It was so fun for me to see that scene through his eyes. Julianne Donaldson did a great job writing this novelette, I was amazed at just how well she wrote fro…

Raising a knotted fist, he bashed her head.
