Blog Tour - Truths Most Worth Knowing

About the book: An Apostle's Witness is a rare and precious gift in today's world. And the testimony of President Boyd K. Packer, developed over the course of more than fifty years as a General Authority, is filled with wisdom and understanding.

"All knowledge is not necessarily of equal value," President Packer reminds us. In this timely book, he speaks of truths that "can be crucial to happiness as well as to exaltation." These are truths "most worth knowing," and they are essential to our progress in mortality and throughout eternity.

"The most important truth," writes President Packer, "is, of course, my witness of Jesus Christ." The stories, experiences, and principles he shares in this volume bear powerful witness of that greatest truth of all.

My review: I enjoyed this book. I like the way they made it look. The paper looks old, there are full page quotes, the type on the pages is bigger than a normal book, and each section…

Blog Tour - Mysteries of Cove: Fires of Invention

About the book: Trenton Colman is exceptionally creative with a knack for all things mechanical. But his talents are viewed with suspicion in Cove, a steam-powered city built inside a mountain. In Cove, creativity is a crime and "invention" is a curse word.

Kallista Babbage is a repair technician and daughter of the notorious Leo Babbage, who died in an explosion—an event the leaders of Cove point to as an example of the danger of creativity.

Working together, Trenton and Kallista learn that Leo Babbage was developing a secret project before he perished. Following clues he left behind, they begin to assemble a strange machine that is unlike anything they've ever seen before. They soon discover that what they are building may threaten every truth their city is founded on—and quite possibly their very lives.

My review: Oh. My. Goodness. This book is amazing!

I loved everything about this book. It is so well-written that you almost feel as though you are there with Trenton, Si…

Blog Tour - Westly A Spider's Tale

Blog Tour Schedule
Westly: A Spiders Tale by Bryan Beus This is tale of a caterpillar named Westly who is destined to be a Monarch butterfly and the next king of the butterfly kingdom. But sometimes things don't turn out the way we plan. When Westly emerges from his cocoon he is nothing like he expected. As a spider he must rediscover who he is. Adopted by the "dirt eaters," Westly is determined to make a difference. He is determined to belong, to be loved, and most importantly, to become who he was born to be.

My review: This book is way cute! It's about a caterpillar named Westly. He's kind of self absorbed like the other caterpillars and butterflies. He's planning to be the next king. But when in a strange twist of fate, he emerges from his cocoon and discovers that he's turned into some strange bug that no one has ever seen before, his plans change awfully quickly. The thing about Westly is that he could be anyone of us. We all make our plans, and they…

Blog Tour - Out of the Ashes

About the book: When Ashelandra’s father dies, she ends up a servant in her own house, instead of the Baroness she was supposed to become. But Ash’s secret sorcery could be the key to winning back her home and following her heart to a future she never imagined. This fantasy-infused Cinderella story puts a magical twist on a classic tale. Riveting and original, it’s a spellbinding read. My review: I have never read a Cinderella retelling quite like this one. I loved everything about it. I loved Ashelandra, Ash for short, she's a young girl who is quite used to playing pranks with her magic and her single parent father lets her get away with almost everything she wants. But he tragically dies, and the day of the funeral Ash meets her controlling uncle who now is her guardian and her life goes downhill rapidly. Ash's uncle does everything he can think of to get her to calm down, and when nothing works, he decides to make her a servant in her own home, leaving her the hardest, most…

Blog Tour - Simply Anna

About the book: Suffering from a cruel heartbreak, Lord Philip Hamilton has been driven to seek refuge from the painful memories haunting London, and his father’s Jamaican sugar cane plantation provides just the escape he needs. Philip finds solace in his hard work and takes comfort in the fact that his distance from society ensures that his heart will be protected from future entanglements. Protected, that is, until the unexpected appearance of a mysterious woman with no memory of her past. The only clue to her identity is a necklace inscribed with a name: Anna.

In a matter of weeks, this gentle, intelligent, and impossibly beautiful stranger turns Philip’s world upside down. But as the bond between the pair grows, the threat of Philip losing his heart once more is only the beginning of the dangers that await. Island renegades and a ruthless band of pirates clash in a swashbuckling battle, and it soon becomes clear that these villains may be the key to unlocking Anna’s past . . .

Blog Tour - Bearskin

About the book: When Conrad, Moiria, and Heppson’s evil enchantress mother tries to convince them to follow her dark ways, they must each decide where the line lies between good and evil, magic and mythology. Based on a lesser-known fairy tale, this young adult book features an impossible romance, an intricate plot, and twists you won’t see coming.

My review: This book is a cute fairy tale type story. It's cute, I liked the characters, except for the evil queen, but obviously! The plot at the beginning seemed a bit slow, but once I was in the middle of the book, it picked up and I found that I didn't want to put it down. This seemed like an original story to me, but it might just be that I've never heard the fairy tale that the story is based on. I liked that the lives of Conrad, Moiria and Heppsen were intertwined with the lives of Lark and Heart in ways that none of them could even begin to imagine. This is a cute, clean, fun young adult novel that you will love if you en…

My One and Only

About the book: Meredith Jensen has seen her share of ups and downs. She’s found love twice already and lost it in spectacularly traumatic ways. Now? She just wants a peaceful life, free from love and drama. Meredith’s plans for the future center around planning other people’s weddings and her new online dating website. Just because she works to help other people find love doesn’t mean she wants any part of it though. Unfortunately for Meredith’s plans, Asher Murphy is determined to get her to give love another chance. But then again, so is Pule Matafeo. Meredith has never denied that she’s stubborn and feisty so it might take the combined forces of all their friends in Fircrest to get her heart back on track in time for Valentine’s Day.

My review: I love Shannon Guymon's books, so when I see them for free on Amazon, I always grab them. She really is awesome at writing clean, romantic, fun books. I love that they are all set in the same little town of Fircrest and that the same cha…

Not in the Script

About the book: Millions of people witnessed Emma Taylor’s first kiss—a kiss that needed twelve takes and four camera angles to get right. After spending nearly all of her teen years performing on cue, Emma wonders if any part of her life is real anymore . . . particularly her relationships.

Jake Elliott’s face is on magazine ads around the world, but his lucrative modeling deals were a poor substitute for what he had to leave behind. Now acting is offering Jake everything he wants: close proximity to home; an opportunity to finally start school; and plenty of time with the smart and irresistible Emma Taylor . . . if she would just give him a chance.

When Jake takes Emma behind the scenes of his real life, she begins to see how genuine he is, but on-set relationships always end badly. Don’t they? Toss in Hollywood’s most notorious heartthrob and a resident diva who may or may not be as evil as she seems, and the production of Coyote Hills heats up in unexpected—and romantic—ways.

Life, Love and the Pursuit of Free Throws

About the book: Josie loves hottie Ethan Lancaster, the captain of the basketball team, but she never can do or say the right thing in front of him. So how can it be fair that Ethan is only interested in her best friend, Cami, when Cami isn’t even trying for his affection? Or is she?

Cami dreams of winning her basketball team’s coveted MVP award, and earning the chance to take the court during a special halftime demonstration with WNBA star Rebecca Lobo, but her best friend, Josie, is a better player. So how can it be fair that Josie is a shoo-in for the honor if she is barely interested in basketball in the first place and isn’t even trying to be the best? Or is she?

Told from two points of view, this novel of freshman life, love, and the pursuit of free throws displays the same delightful humor as Janette Rallison's other comedies.

My review: This book is cute. I liked the way that it shows the ups and downs of young girls in high school. I thought that Janette Rallison did a gre…
