Wishing on Baby Dust

About the book: Infertility stinks. No one knows that better than Megan. After six years of insanity-inducing hormone drugs and desperate prayers, all she has to show for her efforts are enough negative pregnancy tests to fill a bassinet. All around her women are accidentally getting pregnant—like her star piano student—while Megan remains hopelessly barren.

Megan’s never felt so alone. But she’s not the only one struggling.

Christina has just entered the world of infertility, made worse by the fact her husband isn’t ready to be a father. Their marriage, already hanging in the balance, is being torn apart.

Then there’s Kyra, the mother of a precocious three-year-old. She’s shocked to be struggling with secondary infertility. A baby is priceless, but sometimes Kyra feels like she’s being forced to choose which commandment to keep: stay out of debt, or multiply and replenish the earth.

When Megan and Christina are assigned as Kyra’s visiting teachers, they all realize that what you see i…

The Selection

About the book: For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

My review: America Singer's world is full of hunger, want, singing and her boyfriend Aspen. She can't imagine anyone better for her than him. But one day, she receives a letter telling her to sign up …

Blog Tour - Letters to My Future Husband

About the book: Sophie doesn’t know what kind of man she’s looking for, so her father suggests she write letters to her future husband—and come to know him in the process. But Sophie soon learns her letters aren’t the most reliable key to her heart. This hilarious coming-of-age novel is a guaranteed laugh-out-loud read you’ll want to share with all your friends.

My review: When Sophie was a young girl she couldn't imagine marrying any man other than her father. To her he was perfect and she was furious that he was already married to her mother. Her father suggested that she write letters to her future husband so that she can grow to "know" him and also learn just what she wanted. He even provided her with a beautiful locking book to write those letters in. As she grew older, she started writing letters specifically to one of her older brother's friends and close neighbors, to her Hanno was perfect and could do no wrong. But she had to abruptly stop writing when her ov…

About the book: Garrett Murphy is used to rejection. As a child, he was rejected by his mother and as a man he was rejected by Jane Kendall. Going without love has turned Garrett into a man who doesn't trust in a woman's heart. So when he meets Rayne Nyman, she's too good to be true. She's beautiful, talented and sweet. She also happens to be a world renowned pianist. He knows there's no way she'd ever want to stay in Fircrest with him when she could be living the life she was born to. Rayne is determined to prove him wrong and show him that love can be forever but when she comes under fire and her life is put in danger, she might not have the chance.

My review: I really enjoyed reading this book, I love the sweet romance that Shannon Guymon writes. I love the little town of Fircrest and that I was able to return there in this series. I was way glad that Garrett was able to find someone that he could love and that might be able to love him in return. It was real…

Blog Tour - Seek and Find Book of Mormon Stories

About the book: Search for Nephi, Moroni, and other hidden prophets and characters from the scriptures in this fun picture game book. Featuring scenes from the Book of Mormon, this book will keep kids entertained as they look for their favorite scripture heroes and hidden objects in the colorful illustrations. Perfect for home, church, or on the go, it makes learning the scriptures fun for everyone.

My review: This book would be a fun addition to your Church activity bag. I loved the fun illustrations! I thought that it was great that the book started with the introduction of The Book of Mormon, so often that part gets skipped to get to the actual story. I loved the picture for the introduction with people trying to steal the plates from the Prophet Joseph Smith's house and farm, so fun. Your kids will love looking at the fun pictures in this book and learning about the books of The Book of Mormon.

I was sent an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Blog Tour - Madilyn Paige

About the CD: This stunning self-titled debut EP features a set of tunes notable for their raw emotion and beautiful soundscapes. Madilyn wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, drawing from her own struggles as a teenager and her heartfelt expressions of the joy she finds in life. The first track, "Irreplaceable," begins with aching introspection and soars to an assurance of self-worth; the following track, "Foolish Game," was written right after Madilyn left the TV show The Voice and gives insight into the inevitability of discouragement in life and the realization that you can rise above the games that people play. An epic movie score string section combines with powerful rhythms on "Undercover," a breathtaking song about overcoming sadness and seeking the light all around you. The final track, "Little Things," playfully reminds us that the little things in life are the source of true joy.

My review: I will just go ahead and admit that I ha…

About the book: Labelled a nerd for most of high school, Livi sees her first year of university as a chance to redefine herself. She can finally enter the popular crowd and maybe even land herself a super hot boyfriend. But Livi’s about to discover that the price of popularity may be more than she’s willing to pay, and that what — and who — she wants most has always been right in front of her.

My review: This book is kind of your typical girl likes boys, but forgets to notice that boy next door is in love with her story. Livi is just starting college and can't wait to be on her own, but her living arrangements have fallen through and she's not sure what to do. She's concerned all of her plans to have a "perfect freshman year" are all going to be ruined. At the last minute, she's able to move in with her best friend, Adam and his cousin Luke. Now Livi's plans are back on and she's able to move ahead with operation popularity. But will she even be able t…

Blog Tour - Teaching Children About Sex Using the Temple as Your Guide

About the book: It’s time for the talk. Teach your children the truth about sexual intimacy in a world of shifting values and ideas. With expert advice and age-appropriate wording, you learn how to use the temple as a beautiful analogy to discuss with your kids the sacred subject of sex. Timely and clear, this book is a must-read for parents, teachers, and leaders.

My review: I have to admit that I really enjoyed reading this one. This book is laid out very well. I liked how the book is divided into age ranges with several sections geared directly to the age ranges. I also liked that for every one of the age ranges there is a question and answer section that contains some of the most common questions that kids in those ranges would ask. This book is very informative, I learned quite a lot myself from reading it. I liked how Cherri Brooks talks about what happens when you don't teach your kids about sex yourself. I remember being a teenager myself and having my mom try to talk about…

Working in Italy for the Office of Strategic Services, he's been tasked with sabotaging German convoys. When his team kills an officer headed for Rome, the man's similarity to Bastien is undeniable, and seeing an opportunity to turn the tide of the war, Bastien makes a bold decision: he will assume the dead officer's identity. About the book: As this standalone sequel to The Undaunted begins, four years have passed since the first Mormon pioneers made the harrowing journey to carve the Hole-in-the-Rock trail to the region of the San Juan River in southeastern Utah. In that time, the settlers have dug in deep to try to establish roots in this untamed and unforgiving desert, but life is still far from easy.
