Cinderella

Eleanoria Woodston has been forced for the last few years to live the life of a servant in her own home. Her stepmother and two step-sisters have been constantly unkind, taken all of the things that were left from her life with her parents and forced her to do all manner of work. One day, as she's getting the front stairs swept, she's spotted by Prince Anthony. Prince Anthony when he was younger would dress up as a commoner, call himself John, and join in the commoner races and Ella was the only person ever able to beat him in a horse race. The prince had wondered often just what had ever happened to his nemesis, so when he spotted her, he knew that he must talk to her. He's uncertain just why she was never presented to the kingdom as the daughter of a nobleman, and just why she's dressed as though she has no money. But Ella surprises him in that she refuses to say she remembers him, or their races even though she clearly does. He feels sad for her and tries to cheer h…

Blog Tour - Luminescense

About the book: Determined to rescue their favorite teacher, Conner, Lexa, and Melanie confront their worst fears and use their powers in unexpected ways to defeat Lady Nightwing, the treacherous Darkhand leader. But when the trio makes a terrible choice to save Dr. Timberi, their powers may not be enough to keep everyone alive. A thrilling conclusion to the Middle School Magic series!

But due to Lexa's special connection with his sigil, the three know that he's alive and being tortured by Lady Nightwing. Onward Alone

Book summary from back of book: Following their wrenching exile from Nauvoo, a devoted community of Latter-day Saints gathered on the plains of Nebraska in the summer of 1846. Yet as they began to construct temporary settlements, five hundred men were called away to march into battle--leaving wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters at the mercy of the elements of nature, the kindness of neighbors, and their trust in the Lord. The severe perils of the Mormon Battalion soldiers have been well documented, but little has been said of heir families, whose struggles an triumphs were equally compelling This book, along with the included DVD, introduces readers to the women who remained on the untamed prairie, with brief biographies emphasizing the distinctive events that individualized each woman, along with insights, scriptures, and poetry that enrich the historical accounts. These little-known stories will delight and enlighten as you come to know an extraordinary group of women who were le…

Both her marriage and her career were over and it was time to move on. Now she runs a horse stable that specializes in therapy, and she's happy there. One day, a crew shows up to take some pictures for the cover of a book, and the male model is just gorgeous. She's kind of uncomfortable with the way he interacts with his female counterpart, after her experience with her husband all men are already liars, and the way this man makes Monet feel that he cares about the scantily clad young woman tells her that he must be one of the best liars of them all. But Nick, the male model, is intrigued with the lovely Monet, and he won't leave her alone. Is there anyway…

Blog Tour - Power to Become

About the book: As followers of Christ, our desire is to become like Him. In fact, we have been commanded to do so. But how?

In Power to Become, Elder David A. Bednar explores how the Savior makes possible His divine commission, "Therefore I would that ye should be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect" (3 Nephi 12:48).

Chapters in this thought-provoking book highlight the importance of the Atonement, the spiritual gift of personal peace, the importance of priesthood ordinances, and the responsibility we have to obey willingly and endure valiantly.

"As we increase in learning about the Savior and His gospel," Elder Bednar writes, "as we strive with ever greater consistency to act in His doctrine, ordinances, and covenants, then we are blessed with power through His Atonement to increasingly become like Him." Power to Become introduces vital tools we all can use to invite these eternally significant blessings into our lives.

The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon

For Precious Ramotswe, owner of the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, things have stayed the same for a very long time. She's debating with herself as to whether that is a good thing, or whether it's actually a bad thing. She's had the same building, same assistant, and same type of cases for a very long time. One thing does appear to be changing though, her assistant Grace Makutsi appears to be pregnant, and even though Mma Makutsi doesn't want to talk about it, it is clear that very soon she will need to be taking maternity leave. During this small upheaval a woman Mma Sheba, a lawyer, has come to the agency with a problem. One of the cases that she's got involves a will probation case where the woman is almost certain that the young man who is supposed to get the balance of the estate is not who he says he is. She asks Mma Ramotswe to look into it. Also on her mind is the case of the Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon, run by an acquaintance. The owner of the salon has b…

When she returns, she finds that Bubbles has signed her up for a different contract, one that must be completed ASAP for one of the directors. Kate has no choice but to go and work on this new assignment and hopefully wrap it up as soon as she can, and for her own sanity, not use the True Love potion on anyone. As she's on her way to meet the young woman, Cinderella, or Rellie for short, she meets a young man, Jon, who seems to know an awful lot about the castle and royal family. He says he just knows someone who works at the castle, but Jon is keeping his identity as t…

Penny looked around, trying to discover what the smell was and discovered a bear attractant. This was odd, but before she could really wrap her mind around it, Penny was being shot at. She stumbled backwards right over the dead body of a bear. This would freak anyone out, and Penny was no exception. She quickly ran down the mountain and ended up being picked up by a passing motorist, who takes her back to park headquarters.
