It’s been six months since Charlotte and Kyle broke up, and the Husband Maker strikes again. Kyle is officially engaged, while Charlotte is still nursing a broken heart.
In an effort to get Charlotte out of her rut, she and her best friend decide it’s time for some good old-fashioned matchmaking. While Aleena arranges for Charlotte to meet up with a handsome Scottish tourist, Charlotte gets her two best friends together. But when sparks start to fly between Aleena and Angus, Charlotte is left feeling more alone that ever--at least until the charming Scotsman becomes more than just a safe, rebound guy and teaches her that maybe, just maybe, she can dare to open her heart again.
My review: I was way sad that I had to wait to find out just what was going to happen to Charlotte after the cliff-hanger ending in The Husband Maker, but this book was well worth the wait. I love that Charlotte, she's had some hard times, like when she found out that Kyle was getting married again. But she lived through those hard times and was able to meet the handsome Scotsman Flynn. She's not ready for anything serious, but she's happy to show him around San Francisco, all the while telling herself that they are just friends. I really enjoyed watching Charlotte in this book, she started out the book devastated because Kyle is getting married, yet knowing that the one Kyle is marrying is more suited to his chosen life than she could ever be. Then she was trying to just be friends with Flynn, which worked for her. I really liked though that by the end of the book, Charlotte is ready to accept just what her heart has known for a very long time but her head is just starting to realize. This was a fun book that takes you to the very heart of San Francisco and all the way to Scotland. I love the way that Karey White makes me feel as though I have been to all of the amazing places she writes about, even though I haven't. I can't wait for the last book to see just what happens to Charlotte and all of the other amazing characters, Aleena, Flynn, Angus. Hurry up Spring!
