The Insider

About the book: After an arduous assignment in the desert of Afghanistan, investigative journalist Ben Cooper is completely unprepared for what awaits him upon his return to Kabul. Two weeks ago, his twin brother, Jed, was killed in a car accident — and Ben was given guardianship of Jed’s daughter, Zoe. Setting aside his grief, Ben rushes to Salt Lake only to find escalating chaos — and a rising mystery. Jed’s heartless ex-wife and her powerful husband have taken Zoe, and forensic evidence indicates that Jed’s demise was no accident. Now Ben must draw on his arsenal of investigative expertise to uncover the truth about his brother’s death and to save his niece from a terrifying conspiracy more deadly than he could have imagined.

My review: I LOVED this book! It grabbed me from the very beginning and I didn't want to put it down. I loved the way it was written, you see the murderer and the car accident without having any idea who the murderer was and why it happened. I loved the characters, Ben and Rachel are well-written characters. I loved their sweet love story, such a fun part of the book. The plot was amazing, you won't want to stop reading until you've read the very last word. I love that Sian Bessey is able to write a gripping mystery complete with a great love story and leave all of the yucky things out of it, I never had to worry if one of our kids was reading over my shoulder and I never felt uncomfortable myself. This is one book you'll want to pick up and read yourself!

I was able to borrow this book from my local library.
