Blog Tour - Star of Deliverance

About the book: Born a slave and outcast, the young healer Emi discovers an ancient disease spreading among her people. Desperate, she races to the Capital for a cure and unwittingly finds herself in a competition to win over the Crown Prince’s heart. Staying in the game provides time to search for a cure, but it may cost Emi her life—or her heart.

My review: This book started out really slow to me with Emi's life as a healer. But when she goes to the city and unwittingly ends up in the group of young women competing for the heart of the Crown Prince, the plot really grabbed me. I loved how it seemed a little like the reality show, The Bachelor, in that the young women were all kind of out for their own interests. There was back stabbing, lying, rumors being spread. And just what would happen if the Prince or the Queen found out the Emi, or Larken as she's called in the competition, is really a slave? I love how she was able to grow and able to be selfless when she needed to be. This is a great book that you won't want to miss!

I was sent an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
