As You Are

About the book: A horse breeder by trade, Corbin Jonquil is more at home in the stables than in the ballroom of his sprawling estate. Corbin is the quietest of the Jonquil brothers and has always faded into the background, contentedly unnoticed. When a mysterious young widow, Mrs. Clara Bentford, moves into the neighborhood, however, Corbin quickly comes to realize that being noticed has its advantages. But how to catch the eye of the lady? According to his brothers, Corbin need only make a few simple changes to transform himself into the object of any woman’s desire—dubious advice, indeed. Following a series of misadventures, Corbin and Clara slowly lower the facades behind which they’ve been hiding, leaving Corbin shocked by the horrors that haunt the woman he’s coming to care for so ardently. When the menace of Clara’s past threatens to tear them apart and tensions mount, will the couple have the courage to fight for the promise of forever?

My Review: Clara Bentford is trying to hide from her past. She has two small children to care for and she knows that she must keep them safe. Keeping them safe means staying away from everyone, and especially from men. One Sunday at Church, her daughter Alice, bored with the sermon begins playing with the man sitting in the row behind them. That man happens to be Corbin Jonquil, a quiet unassuming man, who also happens to be smitten with and tongue tied around Clara. Clara knows she should stay away from Corbin, but as circumstances seem to keep throwing them together, she finds she cares a great deal more for him than she should. Can she trust Corbin with the secrets of her prior life? Can she trust him with her heart?

Sigh...I love Sarah M Eden's books! They are the most romantic, and the most amazing books you will ever pick up to read. I love her characters, the Jonquil brothers are simple awesome, and I can't wait to read more about their adventures and their love lives. Clara and Corbin are such a perfect couple, I thought that these two were especially well-written, and I loved the way that Corbin took Clara's young Edmund in hand and taught him how to be a man. The plot is well-written as well, I love how Clara and Corbin were able to overcome the challenge of her past. And as is always the case with Sarah M Eden's book, it's completely clean and just fun. This is one book you won't want to put down, so make sure you have plenty of time when you pick it up!

I was sent an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
