Betsy Was a Junior and Betsy and Joe

From the back of the book: Betsy Was a Junior: It's the best school year ever, especially now that charming, funny Tib Muller is back in Deep Valley. But when her crowd gets into trouble, Betsy's best year could turn out to be her worst.

Betsy and Joe: Betsy always thought she and Joe Willard were made for each other--and now that summer's over and senior year's begun, it seems her dream is coming true! But her friend Tony Markham has come calling as well--and his intentions are definitely romantic.

This is such a fun series! I love the stories about Betsy, I love the way that they feel real, and I know I've mentioned the time frame before, but it still seems really neat that these books written about the early 1900's still apply 100 years later. Betsy has tons of dreams that she wants to fulfill, she wants to travel and be a writer and "go with" Joe Willard, but she also needs to determine just who she is. That's what these books contain, Betsy's journey to become Betsy. The characters in these books are the best! They seem real, it's almost as though you could walk out your own door and see Betsy and her "crowd." Our 12 year-old daughter has been loving reading these, even though Betsy is a few years older than her in this story.

I borrowed this book from my local library.
