What others are saying:

“I love these books! A kick-butt heroine and a hottie love interest, with a refreshingly original concept. Be prepared—once you start, these are hard to put down.”
—Paula Cotton, book reviewer at ReadingLark.blogspot.com

“Fractured Soul is a brilliant sequel, exceeding even the remarkable first book in the series. It will haunt your every waking moment between the times you’re reading it, and it will stay with you long after you’ve finished. It’s an amazingly well written and engrossing story that I highly recommend—after you’ve read the first one, of course.”

—Cindy Bennett, bestselling author of Geek Girl and Rapunzel Untangled

My Review

Llona is ready to start a new adventure in her life, she and her best friend May are both attending Lucent Academy, the school that Llona's aunt Sophie runs in New York. Aunt Sophie has been trying to coax Llona into attending forever. After the run in with her math teacher the Vyken, Llona was packed up and sent to Lucent whether she wanted to be or not. Unfortunately, Llona was bitten by the Vyken and the bite marks won't heal. She's also felt some strange darkness in her body and soul. She's concerned, but knows that she needs to keep the fact that she was bitten secret, who knows what her aunt, May and all the other girls at Lucent would think of her if they knew she'd been bitten. And her boyfriend, Christian, what would he think? Llona is quite surprised when she finds out that aunt Sophie has requested that Christian become a guardian at the school. Now they won't be separated for as long as Llona had thought. But Sophie makes it clear that Llona and Christian aren't to be spending time together. Llona knows that she should spend her time inside the safety of the school grounds, but the darkness of the outside world calls to her and she has several run ins with both guardians and Vykens. She quickly learns that the school is not as safe as she had thought it would be, and since no one else knows it's up to Llona to stop the danger before it attacks the other auras.

I really loved this book. Llona is such a strong character. I wish that I could be as strong as she is. I love the illusion in this book of Llona using the Light that is in her to banish the darkness that is also in her. It reminds me of all of us, we all have our faults that are dark, but we also are able to call on Light from Heavenly Father to make the darkness disappear and heal us. The characters in this book and series are well written, I feel as though they could step off the pages of the book and talk to me. The plot has tons of action and moves so quickly that you don't want to put the book down, so you can learn what's going to happen next even faster! I also really liked that it was a clean read.

I was able to download an ARC of this book from NetGalley.
