Kit Matthews is thrilled, her boyfriend Adam Bridger has just returned from his mission in California. Two years has never seemed longer! Just as they are getting acquainted and ready to move on with their lives together, Kit attends a meeting about a humanitarian effort in Romania and just knows that she is supposed to go. It will only be for three months, but Kit really doesn't want to go and leave Adam, especially when he just barely got home. She knows that she needs to go, and Adam and her parents are supportive, so Kit finds herself off to Romania with her friend Tara and a couple of other girls that they will work and room with. She's not sure why she's there, but her having been adopted by her parents helps when she works with orphans both at an orphanage and at a children's hospital. What Kit hadn't counted on though is falling in love with the children that she's been assigned to work with. When things change for the worse for her family at home Kit seriously considers staying in Romania, but wasn't her love for Adam real and worth fighting for?
I read this book in preparation for reading Choosing Charity, which I get to share with you tomorrow. I was excited to learn more about what happened to Kit and Adam. I enjoyed this book, I did wish for more details about Romania, but maybe Romania in the winter is just bleak, that's kind of how that part felt to me! Don't forget to come back tomorrow to learn more about Choosing Charity and check out the great giveaway going on!Labels: LDS fiction, Terri Ferran
