Slayers

Tori's just a senator's daughter. She has always wanted to go to Dragon Camp, because of her love for them, but until now has been unable to convince her wealthy parents that she should go there, they've always wanted her to attend things like finishing school instead. Finally this year, she was able to convince them because there was a class included that she could get college credit for. But Dragon Camp seems a bit strange, instead of checking in where all of the regular campers do, she's led straight to the camp director, Dr Bartholomew who assigns her to a cabin. That cabin seems to be far away from camp, you have to drive a golf cart to get there and back. And the other campers seem just a little strange to her. Soon she learns that she and all the other campers that she's with are Slayers. This select group of kids were all in their pregnant mother's stomachs when their mothers were exposed to a dragon's egg, this changed the DNA of the children to give them special dragon fighting skills. Still, they need all of their members if they're ever going to have a chance to kill the dragons when they finally hatch from their eggs. This was one of those books that I wasn't sure if I ever planned on reading. I read it only because it was a Whitney award nominee, and I'm really glad that I did. I would have really missed out if I hadn't read this amazing book! I loved Tori, I love how the Slayers all have certain abilities and how they need all of them. I loved the story and I even loved the plot twist at the end. I can't wait for the next book in this amazing series!
