Seeking Persephone

The Duke of Kielder is in a bit of a bind, he has never married and the heir apparent of his estate is a man that he can't stand. His solicitor recommends marrying a young woman with no fortune and no prospects of suitors because of her family's situation. The Duke agrees just because he feels the woman will be older and not very pretty so she won't mind the scars on his face from his childhood. Enter Persephone Lancaster, a 20 year old pretty young woman, who has no fortune. Her family loves her, but she's served as the mother of the family since she was 12. She determines to basically sell herself in marriage to the Duke so that her younger sisters will have the opportunity to marry whoever they desire when they are of age. But she didn't take the consequences under consideration. She didn't realize just how hard it would be to see her family leave her deep in the forest at Faltstone Castle with the Duke of Kielder, Adam, who refuses to even look at her most of the time. Adam isn't sure how he ended up marrying such a beautiful young girl, but he is sure that she will want nothing to do with him and his scarred face. Can they learn to look past the outward appearance and love each other before it's too late? I really looked forward to reading this book, it's Sarah M Eden's first book re-released. I loved her other 2 books, Courting Miss Lancaster (the sequel to this one) and The Kiss of a Stranger. They are regency romances, very clean and intriguing. I read this book very fast and I loved every minute of it! I hope she writes more books like this one very soon!
