A Stolen Life

Jaycee Dugard was 11 years old, walking to school when she was kidnapped randomly off the street. The last thing that she touched before her freedom was taken from her was a pine cone, thus the pine cone on the front of this book. I think that Jaycee is an amazing woman simply because she was able to survive 18 years of terror and come out okay. I don't know how she was able to do that. I tried to read this book, but it was way too graphic for me. I decided that I really don't want to know the day to day details of what happened to her. I know that it was terrible, and that's good enough for me. I hope that nothing like this happens to anyone else, it makes me sad that someone could do something like this to an 11 year old child.
