The Upside of Down

I've been wanting to read this book by Rebecca Talley for a while now, it was worth the wait! Natalie is a mother of six children. One in high school down to the youngest who's 3, her life is insane. There's always someone needing her to do something or to clean up after them. There's always someone clogging the toilet with way too much toilet paper while someone else is smearing poo all over the walls during their nap. Anyway, in the midst of all of this craziness, Natalie is called in to meet with the Bishop, she can't imagine why, because both she and her husband Spence have gotten callings within the last few months, but she agrees and then promptly forgets. This sounds like something I would do! The Bishop calls to remind them that they had an appointment, how embarrassing! They rush into town to the church and Natalie is extended the calling of Relief Society President. If you don't know much about the Latter Day Saints, that is a very difficult and time consuming calling to work with all of the women of the ward. Natalie is unsure of what to say, she doesn't think that there's any way the Lord would want her to have all of that responsibility. Her husband convinces her that it will be okay, but she's still not so sure! This book was so funny! I laughed so hard in lots of places! I thought that it had a beautiful ending. I love books where you feel as though you know the characters and want to know what happens to them after the book ends. For me, this was one of those books!
